Trie Ventures is the main channel through which I engage the startup and innovation ecosystem as an angel investor.
I am passionate about innovation changing the world, and I believe successful innovation will also generate a great financial outcome. I am both a financial and an impact investor: I expect any successful innovation to deliver a positive impact.
I have over 20 years of experience growing businesses and leading digital and technology teams in Asia. Angel investing is a concrete extension of that, supporting young companies and helping to create the future I want to see.

AI is changing how businesses run and making entirely new ones possible. Every industry will need new AI solutions, tools, platforms and services to make that shift real, and a new generation of AI-native companies will emerge to build them. The upside goes well beyond productivity: AI is already helping to solve hard problems, such as discovering new drugs.

Sustainable growth in a changing climate
Economic activity has to become sustainable, and in the years ahead every business and community will need to respond and adapt to a changing climate. A large part of the answer is a more circular economy, where the value chain of activities around materials, products and resources is redesigned to be more sustainable. Another part of the answer will be changing the sources of energy that power the global economy.

Solving global problems in a scalable manner requires a platform-based approach. Well-built platforms connect supply and demand and get stronger with use. Companies that understand how to take a platform approach to grow tend to have superior economics and a better chance of success.
